A Family Business with Over 70 Years of Experience You Can Trust
Hickman Timber Management was established in 1992 as a subsidiary of the Hickman Lumber Company. Our experienced foresters are currently managing over 16,000 acres of both private and corporate timberland.
Pennsylvania forests provide vital economic, social, and environmental benefits. State agencies have done an excellent job managing our public lands to provide all these values in a compatible and sustainable manner. Many private lands however, which account for 75% of Pennsylvania’s timberland, are often left idle or nonproductive. With little or no management on these lands mature timber is let go past it’s prime, over growth of undesirable specie occurs, damage from wind, pests, and disease go unchecked, all resulting in slow growth and less profit and usage for the land owner.
Hickman Timber Management partners with private land owners to promote and establish responsible forestry practices on their properties that will create income and value well into the future.
The faster a responsible management plan is put into place the faster results can be realized.
